What does a shop town like Schenectady, NY need? Perhaps a face lift and some reasons for tourists to visit it, that's what!
Erie Blvd. is the road that leads to GE from downtown Schenectady. As you drive toward the big sign with the GE meatball, you are traveling along a road that used to be part of the Erie Canal. It is a wide and ugly street. Perhaps, the conversion to a boulevard with statues of Edison and Steinmetz and lot's of green grass and trees would be more suitable. And a museum dedicated to ENGINEERING advancements spearheaded by GE employees over the past 100+ years in the vicinity would be great!
