Different Strokes
A conversation with Bill Neenan of APC.
Bill Neenan, a manager for APC in Ireland, was in the old GETSCO offices at 513W. During his visit, the gay rights activists had been protesting the City of New York’s refusal to let them march as a group in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Since Bill was a true Irishman in every sense, he was asked what he thought about the gays wanting to march in the St. Paddy’s Parade.
Bill’s answer was, “You know, in Ireland, we consider a queer to be a man who prefers women over whiskey.”
I guess it’s all a matter of perspective.
