Lee Pike's 1969 Corvette
Lee was a GETSCO field engineer before the Field Engineering Program existed (mid-1960s). When he left the field, he landed a job in Gas Turbine product service. However, before a job opened, he "treaded water" in a Technical Marketing Program (TMP) position for GT International Sales.
Dave Lucier came into that job to replace Lee when his PS job opened. Dave was a trainee on the TMP. Lee took him to lunch on day #1 in his 1969 Vette. This car became the inspiration for Dave to later switch to the FEP and become a field engineer. Dave never bought a Vette, but he sure wished he did!
