The "Meatball" Logo

About the time that they changed the name to just two letters, the curly cues on the meatball were eliminated, also. It is a subtle change and I have been told that it only cost over $1 million!

They should have taken the million(s) and contributed it to the GE pension plan!

GE Building in NY City

Posted by dlucier at Tuesday, Dec-11-2007 04:00 AM
The GE building on Lexington Ave in NY City has "slanted" letters not the famous (so called) meatball.

You often see the aerial view of the building on the NBC news and MSNBC. The letters are "forward leaning," probably to suggest the current company thinking. However, a logo that is known all around the world (the meatball) has been abandoned.

What genius marketing person would change the logo of a company that is as well-known as say Coca Cola? One wonders.
